March Update: COVID-19

To our Copper Cayuse Outfitters Community,

We want to take a moment and connect with you directly as the coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to impact all of us globally.

The well-being and safety of our customers and our employees are our top priorities and will always be in every decision we make.

At this time, our season has not yet begun but we did want to remind our past and future guests of the safety and health precautions we take at CCO every riding season.

Here are some of the precautionary steps we take for our collective well-being:

  • Private Group Bookings – We encourage guests to tour with their own groups. Safely experience BC’s backcountry with your private group. Please contact our bookings team to arrange your private group tour.

  • Washing Stations – We provide hand sanitizer (above 60% alcohol) to all of our tour guides who are then able to provide to guests as needed. We also have clean running hot water at our base camps and the ranch with hand washing stations available anytime for any guest and staff.

  • Food Preparation - All of our packaged food is prepared with safety and health measures, ie. washed hands, cook safe gloves, hair nets, etc.

  • Distancing - Horseback riding provides a natural separation. With only one human per horse, and a traveling distance between horses on trail, you are safely kept at distance from others.

  • Transportation Options - We encourage all riders to drive themselves to the trailhead. We also provide transport in clean and sanitized vehicles as needed.

  • We are closely following guidelines from national health organizations.

We are committed to bring you and your loved ones the best and safest horseback riding experience. As of now, we encourage anyone in good health to join us on a horseback tour once our season opens May 1st 2020*. As we move closer to this date, we will determine if we have to change that date and/or if we have to alter how we do our rides to protect our staff and customers.

As a company, we are providing guests the most possible flexibility with their ride booking. Our booking policies include:

  • Cancel any ride up to 24hours prior to the ride for full refund

  • Reschedule any ride up to 24hours prior to the ride, with no rescheduling charge

  • Last minute booking on all rides. Book any of our hourly rides within two hour’s notice (subject to availability). Book within 24 hours notice to book any 1/2 day, full day or overnight rides (subject to availability).

Lastly, although there is much uncertainty as the situation evolves, we take comfort in the fact that we have an incredibly dedicated team at Copper Cayuse Outfitters and a compassionate loyal community of customers that make us all genuinely feel a part of one big herd. In times like these, we listen, we learn and we support each other.

Thank you so much for your loyalty to our business. We will take it one day at a time.

Take care of yourself and each other,

Don Coggins Partner, Copper Cayuse Outfitters
