New Kids on the Block: Thunder and Lightning

We not only welcomed a new year recently but also two new LONG faces to the Copper Cayuse crew. Meet Thunder and Lighting.

Thunder and Lightning are both 5 year old and come from Lil’wat. They are the same age as the last group of 5 horses we brought in two years ago from the Lil’wat herd, 4 of which are green broke and were consistently ridden by our wranglers last summer.

T and  L are catching up to their pals quickly.  We always take our time to gentle expose our new arrivals to ride-life. In most cases, it takes at least two years before we put a saddle on them. However, the story goes that some horses are born broke and Lighting may be one of those. He has already accepted having a saddle on his back and his ground manners are coming along nicely.

Thunder is coming along more slowly, still working on ground manners and such. But every horse is different and as they accept one thing, we introduce something new.
