We all need something to look forward to these days. Copper Cayuse Outfitters is creating an opportunity for just that.

It’s hard to comprehend the fact that we are nearing the 1-year anniversary of the never-ending “2-week quarantine”. 2021 feels more like 2020 with a very late checkout. But despite the light at the end of the tunnel still seemingly out of reach, we are grateful to have the opportunity of providing a covid-safe service to our local community. Getting out for a horseback ride makes the current environment feel a little less stressful and a little more normal.

It’s almost the new year (phew!) - and although you make be boycotting resolutions, we have one that is actually ATTAINABLE. We promise!

2020 has been the most unexpected year, bringing on new stresses, anxiety, and every other emotional and mental ailment that you could have never prepared for. Over the last 9 months, humanity has been pushed to our limits just to get by, let alone even attempt at thriving. And after a year where all of our resolutions and goals got thrown out the window by March, we are now ready to make some new ones that we can actually stick to, regardless of anything that comes our way.

After a very stressful year, we thought we would make gift-giving extra simple for you.

We are wrapping up our 2020 riding season and it’s safe to say we are a mixed saddlebag of emotions about it. It has been one HOOF of a summer at Copper Cayuse as we resiliently road on after a very uncertain start to the season due to the global pandemic.

As we rode away from the trailhead, the guide turned back to throw a cheerful bit of advice over her shoulder. “You might as well turn your phones to Airplane Mode now. Save the batteries for the camera.” Searching for a signal would drain them dead since there’s none to be found once you ride up the Birkenhead Forest Service Road, north of Pemberton, and into Copper Cayuse Outfitters’ 4,000-hectare backcountry tenure.

We have started a GoFundMe to support our locally-owned and operated business. Due to the lack of revenue from tours this season, we are in a position where we will be lacking enough funds to feed our horses and have them looked after. Our guided horseback business has been devastated by COVID-19 and although we have been able to make sure our staff is OK, our horses still need to eat and be looked after.
