Picture this: a breathtaking journey through pristine rivers, serene lakes, enchanting forests, picturesque alpine meadows, and historic old mine packhorse trails. As you navigate these awe-inspiring landscapes, single-track trails beckon, promising an unforgettable expedition.
Our majestic and trusted horses will carry you to the idyllic base camp, a sanctuary nestled amidst the wilderness that even has a natural cold plunge. Here, our seasoned guides will work their magic, setting up camp and crafting delicious dinners around the crackling campfire, enhancing the feeling of a true wilderness adventure. Our 3-day overnight Summer expeditions kick off every Friday at 9:30 am from our trailhead, running from June 27 to September 26, 2025. Insider tip: the most magical window for this expedition falls between mid-July and mid-September when nature is at its prime.
All riders under 14 must be accompanied by a responsible adult unless special permission has been from the Company prior to the ride.
Historic Li-lik-hel Gold Mine Horseback Riding Expedition
Available between June 27 and September 26, 2025
Set off on an exhilarating quest for gold on the legendary Li-lik-hel Mine Expedition. Traverse trails once etched by miners and weathered by years of horse-drawn journeys carrying precious gold ore to the rail-head in the early 1900s. Immerse yourself in a three-day, two-night adventure through the breathtaking Coast Mountain Range of British Columbia. Discover the awe-inspiring landscapes nestled between Birkenhead Lake and the historic Li-lik-hel mine, unveiling the region's natural splendour.

Professional guides, well-trained mountain horses, tack, 2-nights tented accommodation, and seven meals beginning with lunch on the day of your arrival at base camp. Sleeping bags, cots, mats, tents, towels, washcloths, riding helmets ( if wanted) and riding cape are all supplied.

The riding is mix of adventurous, single track through woodland trails, cart tracks, and FSR’s allowing you to exercise your mount in all gaits based on your wishes and ability.
Trips can be tailored to all abilities.

Begin your expedition bright and early on Friday. Meet us at the trailhead where your horse and guides will be waiting. You'll embark on a 16-kilometer ride to our base camp, passing a recent mine claim exploration on the way.
At the camp, you'll be reunited with your luggage (maximum weight of 30lbs). Our base camp features amenities like a hot shower, outdoor plumbing, and tents on platforms for extra guest comfort.

After a hearty morning meal, we'll set out to the Li-lik-hel mine, allowing you to explore the original mine site and witness how the old hard rock miners extracted gold ore by following the veins in the rock. From base camp, you can also enjoy day rides to various locations of interest. Each day concludes with campfire gatherings and cozy tent accommodations.

On the final day, we offer a range of trail options for your return journey to the trailhead, and the choice is yours, guided by the preferences of the riding group.
Ogre Lake Horseback Riding Expedition

Kick off your adventure at a comfortable 9:30 AM meet-up at the trailhead. Here, you'll be introduced to your trusty steed and our seasoned wrangler. Embark on a scenic 15-kilometer horseback ride to our well-appointed base camp, where your luggage will have been conveniently transported by truck. The camp boasts amenities such as a rejuvenating hot shower, outdoor plumbing, and elevated platform-mounted tents for a touch of luxury in the wilderness. As the sun sets, gather around the campfire to bid farewell to civilization and relish the serenity of the great outdoors.

Saturday brings another day of breathtaking exploration as we continue our journey towards Ogre Lake, following an array of captivating trails that offer some of the most awe-inspiring views in all of British Columbia.
A lakeside lunch break provides the perfect opportunity to soak in the serene beauty and explore the surroundings. We'll then retrace our path back to camp, discovering that the magic of these trails truly unfolds when traversed in both directions. On the final day of your unforgettable expedition (Sunday), start the day with a leisurely breakfast before setting out on a return journey to the trailhead via an alternate route. Anticipate your arrival back at the trailhead between 4 and 5 PM, concluding your remarkable adventure.
Flexible Booking
We offer flexible booking options including cancellations as late as 24hrs before your ride, rescheduling or cancelling at no extra charge for all rides except the multi-day rides which require 7 days’ notice for cancellation. Last-minute booking can be made up to 2 hours before the hourly ride, 24 hours before for 1/2 day and full day rides and 7 days prior for multiday rides.*
